This derogation shall be based on: (a) the interests of public health and safety; (b) the interests of air safety; (c) the need to prevent serious damage to crops, livestock, forests, fisheries and water; (d) the need to protect flora and fauna; or (e) purposes of research and teaching, repopulation or reintroduction of species. The Act also lays down particular capture prohibitions and restrictions that shall apply in Special Protecion Zones.
