This Act pursues the protection of the genetic resources of the wood flora species listed out in Annex A. To this end, the Region shall: (a) determine the regional forests and plant population thata are most likely to supply seed and propagating material and therefore register them in the Regional Book of Seed Forests referred to in article 4; (b) purchase forest areas of biogenetic importance to be entered into the regional forest domain; (c) provide for the installation and management of arboreal cultures intended for the production of selected propagating material; (d) create the Regional Forestry Nursery, intended for the production of propagating material of certified origin, as per article 7.
