The Regional Phytosanitary Structure (referred to in Regional Act No. 3 of 19 January 1998) may create phytosanitary protected zones so as to safeguard the production of regional nurseries. It may also adopt all necessary phytosanitary measures, including the uprooting of infected plants. Phytosanitary Inspectors, Assessment Agents and competent organisms pertaining to the Provinces, Communes and Mountain Communities shall carry out inspections in order to verify compliance with this Act. If any violation is found, they shall apply the penalties established by article 5.
