Abstract

This Regional Act regulates collecting and marketing of fresh and conserved spontaneous mushrooms, in accordance with Act No. 352 of 1993, in order to protect the environment as well as public health. Mushrooms may not be collected unless they belong to the species defined by particular provisions of the regional authority. Protected species listed in Annex A to this Act may not be collected. Non edible mushrooms can be collected only for educational and/or scientific purposes. Article 4 specifies the methods and tools for collecting that are allowed. Article 7 prescribes the conditions under which mushrooms may be placed on the market. Collecting is prohibited in the areas defined by article 8. The Technical Committee for the Protection of Mushrooms in Calabria is established by article 10.
