Apiculture is considered as an important factor for improving the quality as well as the quantity of agricultural productions, with special regard to fruit-growing. The Region shall endeavour to develop research and studies in matter of apiculture. Article 2 provides for the establishment of the Regional Commission for Apiculture under the Agricultural Sector of the Regional Council. In accordance with article 3, the Region shall fund the following interventions: (1) purchase of machinery and equipment; (2) breeding of selected queen bees; (3) pollination services; (4) professional training courses; (5) technical assistance for beekeepers; (6) purchase of machinery and equipment intended for the processing, transformation and marketing of apicultural products. Article 7 defines the sanitary functions pertaining to the local health authorities. Beekeepers must inform without any delay the latter in case of detection or suspect of any disease.
