Abstract

This Regional Act updates several provisions of Regional Act No. 9 of 1999 in matter of Environmental Impact Assessment. The amendments concern in particular the different stages of the procedure to be followed and the effects of the Environmental Impact Assessment (V.I.A.), as well as provisions on offences and related penalties. These provisions are adopted pursuant to European Union legislation in force, specifically Council Directive 85/337/EEC (which has been repealed and replaced by Directive 2011/92/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment).
