The Act came into force on 7 August 2002.
Abstract

Within the territory of the Basilicata, the felling of olive trees is permitted exclusively upon prior issuance of an authorization by the Region. The prohibition regards also damaged or deteriorated olive trees. The authorization may be granted only under the circumstances and conditions specified by article 2. In case of violation of these provisions, the penalties laid down in article 3 shall be applied. Surveillance functions are entrusted to the Communes and to the State Forestry Body (art. 4).
