Abstract

The Molise Region aims at guaranteeing the conservation of wild fauna and its related habitat, taking into particular account endangered species. Annex A to this Act lists out the protected species. The capture, killing and keeping as well as the destruction or gathering of eggs of such protected species is prohibited (art. 4). Farming of frogs, snails, crayfishes and brackish water crabs may take place only upon authorization granted by the Mayor of the competent Commune. The Commune shall carry out sanitary and technical inspections (art. 7). Article 8 sets out the obligations which producers must comply with in order to place on the market breeding products. Further provisions concern penalties (art. 10) and inspection (art. 11). The provisions hereby established shall not apply to scientific research (art. 12).
