For the purpose of applying the emission limit values referred to in article 2 of Act No. 447 of 1995, the Communes shall classify their respective territories into specific areas. In doing so, the Communes shall take into account the six types of areas defined in article 2 as well as the classification criteria laid down in article 3 hereto. The Regional Council shall give directives concerning noise classification and shall also establish special criteria applicable to the elaboration of restoration plans. Surveillance functions are entrusted to the Provinces, which shall operate in conjunction with the Regional Agency for the Protection of the Environment in Marche (ARPAM).
