The Act designates (i) the territories to be protected as per article 1 of Act No. 431 of 1985, (ii) the protective measures to be applied to protected areas as per Act No. 1497 of 1939, (iii) the content and implementation procedures for Territorial Landscape Plans (PTP), and (iv) drafting and approval procedures for the Regional Territorial Landscape Plan (PTPR). A computerized information system is to be set up to collect the data and information concerning the physical characteristics of the regional territory (art. 3). Articles 5 to 14 define those areas on which particular protective measures and restrictions shall be implemented, namely marine coasts, lake coasts, public watercourses, mountains, parks and nature reserves, forest areas and wetlands.
