Abstract This Regional Act is aimed at the promotion of organic farming and the protection of farmers' as well as consumers' hygiene and economic interests. Within 6 months from the entry into force of this Regional Act, the Regional Council shall approve a regulation laying down rules concerning the manufacturing, conservation, transformation, advertising, labelling and marketing of organic products, registration procedure as well as the monitoring system to be enforced. Special research, experimentation and promotion schemes shall be drawn by the Regional Authority. Article 6 concerns the recognition of organic farmers' associations by the President of the regional authority. Said associations shall issue the labels for the packaging and the marketing of organic products ( article 7 ). Annex A, defining permitted as well as forbidden techniques, is attached.
