Abstract

Pursuant to the general principles and rules laid down at national level in Act No. 752 of 1985, this Regional Act contains provisions governing the gathering, cultivation and placing on the market of fresh and preserved truffles destined to human consumption. Only the species mentioned in article 2 may be marketed as fresh. Article 4 allows and encourages the setting up, on a voluntary basis, of consortia to protect truffles and truffle areas. Article 7 specifies the periods during which truffles may be collected, whilst article 8 concerns the gear that may be deployed and the daily maximum quantity to be collected. Collecting is subject to prior issue by the competent provincial administration of a special authorization (art. 9). Further are laid down rules governing the placing on the market of truffles (art. 12), processing (art. 13)and packaging (art. 16). Article 19 sets out administrative sanctions.
