In particular, the Act lays down rules governing the issue and renewal of the integrated environmental authorization of existing and new installations (those mentioned in Annex I to Directive 96/61/EC). The Provinces shall be in charge of the issue of the authorization above-mentioned and the inspections and checks to be carried out to ensure compliance with these provisions. Article 17 specifies the measures to be applied in case of risk of transboundary adverse effects originating in installations falling within the regional territory.
