Particular regard is given to the objectives of environmental protection and hydrogeological protection of the regional territory. Afforestation intiatives shall be undertaken with a view to reducing CO2 in the atmosphere. Article 2 provides for the establishment of the Conference for Mountains. Article 8 defines the content of the programme to be adopted by the regional authority to pursue the development of mountain areas. The interventions hereby envisaged shall be financed through the Regional Fund for Mountain referred to in article 11. The subsidies indicated in article 17 shall be granted to small farmers.
