Abstract

The Region aims at the preservation of local flora and to this end promotes intitiatives intended to prevent the extinction of rare or endangered species of a significant scientific and ecological character. To attain these objectives, the Regional Act sets up on the one hand the Regional Advisory Committee for Nature Conservation (art. 2) and on the other hand the Regional Fund for Nature Conservation (art. 3). The gathering of the plant species referred to in article 4 shall be prohibited, with the exception of special authorizations that may be granted by the competent Communes for scientific, educational or medicinal purposes. Article 10 makes provision in matter of gathering of underwood products (daily total allowable catch). Article 12 prohibits the use of certain gear. Article 15 sets out administrative sanctions.
