The Marche Region will have a planning, programming and control function and will determine, in application of Act of 5 January 1994 on water resources, the ATO (Optimal Territorial Areas); promote the cooperation between the local entities and organize an integrated water service. Further the Act provides for the functions and powers of the "ATOs" and establishes that a local Authority will set out an agreement for an integrated management of water resources.
