Abstract

In compliance with the principles and rules laid down under Act No. 353 of 2000, which establishes the national legislative framework relating to forest fires, the present Regional Act aims at the preservation of regional forests and their protection against fires. The regional authority shall set up the register of forests which have been affected by fires (art. 5) and shall submit it to the Ministry of the Environment. Particular prohibitions are laid down by article 7 to prevent forest fires. Penalties are set out by article 12.
