Abstract This Regional Act has been enacted to lay down rules applicable to the keeping and trade in exotic animals. The Regional Council shall draw up the list of animal species covered by these provisions. The list shall be updated annually (art. 1). Article 2 provides for the setting up of a Technical and Scientific Committee which shall perform advisory functions. Keepers of exotic species must notify the Mayor of the competent Commune. Trade in exotic animals is subject to the previous issue of an authorization by the competent Commune as per article 4. Article 8 deals with the surveillance system. Articles 10 and 11 provide for the seizure of the animals and application of penalties in case of infringement. Full text Italian Website www.regione.marche.it
