Abstract

This Regional Act has been enacted to regulate the functions, powers and duties of the Forest Corps of the Valle d’Aosta Region. This body is empowered to perform at regional level the functions and tasks which belong to the National Forest Corps. The functions are concerned with the protection and management of the agricultural and sylvo-pastoral territories, forests and mountain areas, soil, waters and natural resources as a whole. The Regional Forest Corps shall be particularly in charge of: (a) surveillance and protection of the forest heritage; (b) preservation of wildlife; (c) prevention of water and soil pollution; (d) supervision of the management of protected areas; (e) prevention of forest fires and performance of fire-fighting activities.
