Abstract

The present Law implements the Federal Waste Avoidance, Recovery and Disposal Act ((BGBl. I p. 212). The authorities of the Land Rheinland-Pfalz, municipalities, counties and all other official bodies under public law shall contribute and promote the circular economy to protect both people and the environment against harmful effects. The Law provides for reuse and recycling of waste in production processes and avoidance of the waste production. The text consists of 28 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: Obligations of public authorities promoting recycling management (1); Regulations and tasks of public waste carriers (2); Disposal of hazardous waste (3); Waste prevention programme, waste management plan and waste management facility (4); General provisions (5); Transitional and final provisions (6).
