Abstract

This Recommendation of the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission, adopted in accordance with pursuant to Articles 5 and 6 of the NEAFC Convention, prescribes the total allowable catches (TAC) in the deep pelagic fishery in the Irminger Sea and adjacent waters by Contracting Parties and quota allocation to Contracting Parties in 2019. For 2019, each Party may transfer to 2020 unutilised quantities of up to five percent of the quota allocated to that Party for 2019. The Recommendation also concerns authorised fishing periods, the TAC for shallow pelagic fishery, authorised fishing areas for the deep pelagic fishery, scientific research, reporting requirements, participation in redfish fisheries by NEAFC vessels, inspection and surveillance (also by inspectors of a port state), technical measures and development of a recovery plan by NEAFC. Inspectors from any Contracting Party may accompany the inspectors from another Contracting Party during the inspection of landings or transhipment operations, subject to the consent of the port State, and flag State if different.
