In order to protect small swordfish, each Contracting Party and Cooperating non‐Contracting Party, Entity, or Fishing Entity (CPC) shall take the necessary measures to prohibit the taking of and landing of swordfish in the entire Atlantic Ocean weighing less than 25 kg live weight. CPCs shall issue specific authorizations to vessels 20 meters LOA (length overall) or greater flying their flag that are authorized to fish for South Atlantic swordfish in the Convention area.
