Abstract

This Recommendation of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) concerns a Multi-annual Management and Conservation Programme for tropical tunas. Contracting Parties and Cooperating non-Contracting Parties, Entities or Fishing Entities (CPCs) with vessels that have been actively fishing for tropical tunas in the Atlantic will apply the interim management measures with the objective of reducing current levels of fishing mortality of tropical tunas as are described in this Recommendation. The text provides for catch limits for bigeye tuna, capacity management measures, management of FADs, control measures covered by the Programme, catch limits and management procedures and management strategy evaluation. The text has 69 Articles divided into 7 parts and has 7 Annexes.
