The present Act does not apply to a matter concerning the formation of real estate provisions for which is made in other legislation (sect. 1). A real estate refers to an independent unit of land ownership which under the Real Estate Register Act (392/85) is to be entered into the Real Estate Register as real estate, and other register unit refers to another separate unit to be entered into the Real Estate Register under the said Act. A real estate comprises the area belonging to it, the shares of the joint property units and of the joint special benefits as well as the easements and the private special benefits belonging to the real estate. The Act regulates land survey and mapping, cadastral procedures, subdivision of land, partitioning of land under joint ownership and other land and consequences of changes in land or title in land to land drainage systems, land exchange, land consolidation, the formation of jointly owned forest (Chapt. 10), easements, etc. Full text English/Swedish Website www.finlex.fi
