Abstract

This Order, made under sections 3 and 15 of the Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006, prohibit fishing for razor clams in the classified bivalve mollusc production area near the Inishkea Islands. The master or person in charge of a sea-fishing boat shall not: fish for or attempt to fish (cause or permit any person on board the boat to fish for or attempt to fish) for razor clams in the specified zone; retain on board or land razor clams taken or caught in the specified zone or cause or permit any person on board the boat to have or retain on board or land razor clams taken or caught in the specified zone. A person shall not have in his or her possession or under his or her control and shall not buy, handle, weigh, tranship, transport, process, store, or sell any razor clams taken or caught in the specified zone after the making of these Regulations.
