Abstract

Regulations to implement provisions of the Quarantine Act 1953, which provides for the quarantine of human beings, goods, animals and plants. The Regulations make provision with respect to notification of diseases, fumigation or disinfecting of vessels or aircraft and other measures to be taken by vessels or aircraft on which a disease has occurred, methods and procedures of quarantine, seizure of goods and disposal, notice of intended importation of animals, import requirements and procedures for animals and animal products, inspection and certification of imported plants, permits to import plants, packing of plants, import of timber, living insects or fodder, examination of imported timber, des5truction of suspected seeds, disposal of plants, etc. (98 regulations and completed by 3 Schedules prescribing forms, fees and methods of fumigation or other treatment of plants, packages or goods)
