Abstract These Rules, consisting of 48 sections and completed by eight Appendixes, establishes the requirements to be met to benefit from a fishing authorisation within the waters under the jurisdiction of Punjab. They specify that all licences under section 9 including seasonal, monthly and daily licences to fish in the waters mentioned in Appendixes I, II, III, IV and V will be issued by the Director 1 [General] of Fisheries or any other officer authorized by him in this behalf on payment of fees prescribed under these rules. They provide that the Chief Engineer or any officer authorized by him in this behalf may issue seasonal licences, not exceeding four in number to fish in waters mentioned in Appendix III, in favour of his subordinates, free of charge. Provided further that no licence other than daily licence shall ordinarily be issued for fishing in water mentioned in Appendix IV.
