Abstract

A levy is imposed on every person to whom this Board has allotted a pullet production quota, of $2.00 per pullet raised or kept by him in Manitoba at any time in any week in excess of the maximum number of pullets that such person has been authorized by this Board to raise or keep at any point in time during all or a portion of his production year as indicated on his Pullet Rearing Certificate. A levy is imposed on every person who raises or keeps pullets in Manitoba and who has not been allotted a pullet production quota by this Board of $2.00 per pullet raised or kept by him in Manitoba at any time in any week in excess of 299 pullets. The levy imposed under subsection (1) shall not apply to a person who raises or keeps laying hens and who, in such capacity, has been designated by this Board as a designated small non-registered producer, or as a designated multi-family non-registered producer, for such period of time that such designation is in effect. A levy is imposed on every person who (a) raises or keeps pullets in Manitoba and (b) raises or keeps laying hens and (c) who, in such capacity, has been designated by this Board as a designated small non-registered producer, of $2.00 per pullet raised or kept by him in Manitoba at any time in any week in excess of such producer's verified number of laying hens.
