Abstract

This Notice of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries prohibits the importation into South Africa of live cloven hoofed animals from countries or zones not recognized as free from Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE). This decision serves to protect the livestock industry and other related industries in South Africa against the introduction of animal diseases into the Republic of South Africa.
