They also concern the discharge or treatment of non-domestic effluent. Generally it shall be prohibited to deposit sewage in an unsanitary manner. The Public Utilities Corporation shall declare sewage areas in accordance with an established procedure. Owners of premises situated outside a sewerage area shall install and maintain a private sewage disposal system in accordance with Part III. Except with the written approval of the Corporation, no person shall, in a sewerage area, use, install or maintain a private sewage disposal system. The Regulations define duties of owners of premises in respect of sewage works. No person shall deposit or discharge contrary to these Regulations, any deposit of matter in or into a drain and no person shall discharge any non-domestic effluent into a drain or sewer without the written approval of the Corporation. The Regulations also place restrictions on the discharge of unpolluted waters into drains.
