This Act shall come into force on such day as the Minister may appoint by Order published in the Gazette.
Abstract

This Act lays down provisions on the responsibilities of the Minister of Finance, Financial Secretary, Chief Procurement Compliance Officer; establishment of the Public Procurement Board; procurement and property disposal entity and its officers; functions of Bid Evaluation Committees; planning, contract valuation and requirements of procurement; procurement methods; prohibition of disposal of public property within Government; establishment and functions of Procurement Review Council; and ethical standards and procurement integrity. This Act compels any procurement official to exercise his/her public procurement functions diligently, impartially, conscientiously and fairly and not to commit or abet any act of coercion, collusion, corrupt or fraudulent practice.
