Abstract

Under the provisions of Article 3, item (i) of the Act on Regulation of Fishing Operation by Foreign Nationals (Act No. 60 of 1967), the person whom the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries designates based on that item is set forth as follows, therefore, Public Notice of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry No. 1421 of 9 October 1967 (to set forth the person whom the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries designates under Article 3, item (i) of the Act on Regulation of Fishing Operation by Foreign Nationals) is repealed. Any person who falls under any of the following items (person performing fishery by a fishing boat registered by Fishing Boat Act No. 178 of 1950, Article 10 paragraph (i) or a non-powered fishing boat less than 1 ton of gross tonnage that is not a Japanese vessel and a person gathering or catching aquatic animals and plants by a vessel that is not a Japanese vessel are excluded): i) a special permanent resident provided for by the Act on Special Measures for the Immigration Control of, inter alia, those who have lost Japanese Nationality pursuant to the Treaty of Peace with Japan (Act No. 71 of 1991); i) a foreign national who is a resident for study reasons appended Table 1 (limited to a person whose activities in Japan listed in the column below the paragraph of the status of residence in the table are related to fishing industry or gathering or catching aquatic animals and plants.)
