Abstract The present Regulations enforce the Federal Real Property and Federal Immovables Act (S.C. 1991, c. 50). In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the leasing of oil and gas rights located on certain public lands. Section 3 establishes that subject to these Regulations, the Minister may, by way of lease, grant to any person the exclusive right to search for and take oil and gas within and under lands in the Provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.
