Abstract These Regulations, composed of 17 sections and three Annexes, make provisions and establish procedures for the inspection of fish for human consumption in Israel. Section 1 gives definitions. Section 2 regards storage, transportation and selling of frozen fish and labelling conditions. Section 3 regards storage, transportation and selling of chilled or salted fish. Section 4 deals with any type of transportation or moving of fish from a place to another and the need to comply with a veterinarian doctor inspection upon movement. Section 5 regards the introducing of fish to a local authority area. Section 6 prohibits the selling of fish that are still under inspection and tests. Section 7 requests that a veterinarian doctor may request the movement of fish from an area to another for further tests. Section 8 deals with all expenses due to inspection and test operations as well as the destruction of fish in case of negative inspection tests. All costs must be debited to the fish owner. Section 9 regards fish destroying procedures. Section 10 regards inspection fees. Section 11 establishes that laboratory tests shall be performed only in authorized labs.
