Paragraph (a) in the first part of Section 4 regarding the functions of the Minister is amended as "the prevention, treatment, limitation and suppression of a disease or a public health hazard, including the conduct of an investigation and inquiry to determine whether there is a risk to human health". Furthermore, new subsections 4 and 5 are inserted in Section 5 regarding the Public Health Board and Sections 24 and 25 are inserted regarding use of force and amendment of schedule. This Act repeals the words "public health officer" wheresoever these words appear in the Principal Act and replaces these words with "environmental health officer".
