These Provisions entered into force on 1 June 2011.
Abstract

These Provisions are developed in order to enhance the capability of emergency response to vessel-induced pollution accidents, and control, alleviate and eliminate the damage of pollution to the marine environment caused by vessel-induced pollution accidents. The Provisions consist of 44 articles divided into 7 Chapters: General provisions (I); Building of emergency response capability and emergency response plans (II); Vessel-Induced Pollution Clean-Up Entities (III); Signing of the agreement on the removal of the vessel-induced pollution (IV); Emergency handling (V); Legal responsibilities (VI); Supplementary provisions (VII).
