Article 2 contains the definition of "beekeeper", "beehive" and "apiary". Beekepers must notify every year to the Veterinary Service of the competent local health authority the number of beehives kept (art. 3). The Veterinary Service, with a view to preventing the spread of any disease, shall periodically carry out sanitary assessments on beehives. Article 8 lays down further provisions related to inspection. Article 9 sets out penalties.
