Abstract

These Regulations make provision with respect to admission of foreign judgements with respect to civil liability of ship-owners for oil polluting events at sea in accordance with the Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Polluting Damage. Regulations 4 to 10 make provision for application for registration of foreign judgments. Notice of registration of judgment shall be issued to judgment debtor under regulation 11. Except to the extent that these Regulations provide for the setting aside of registration, a registered judgment shall be of the same force and effect as a judgment of the Court in which it is registered as if it had been entered in that Court on the date of registration. Execution shall not be issued before a period allowed to set aside judgment. (18 regulations)
