Abstract

This Act: provides a framework for the effective functioning of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Agriculture in Jamaica; enhances the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources; facilitates access to, and use of, plant genetic resources; and promotes the equitable sharing of benefits arising out of the their use.
