Abstract

This Measure of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), recalling the commitment made by Members to implement the CCAMLR precautionary and ecosystem approaches to the management of fisheries that embrace the principles of conservation as stated in Article II of the Convention, prohibits exploratory fishing for Dissostichus spp. other than for scientific research purposes in accordance with Conservation Measure 24-01, in depths shallower than 550 m in order to protect benthic communities, except where a deeper depth is specified in a separate conservation measure.
