An Act to establish the Zambian National Authority on the Chemical Weapons Convention and define its powers and functions; to prohibit the development, production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons; to provide for the destruction of chemical weapons; to give effect to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction of 13th January, 1993; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.

Abstract

This Act: (a) establishes the Zambian National Authority on the Chemical Weapons Convention and defines its powers and functions; (b) prohibits the development, production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons; (c) provides for the destruction of chemical weapons; (d) gives effect to the Convention on the prohibition of the development, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons and on their destruction; (d) regulates the importation and exportation of chemicals classified in accordance with this Act; and (e) provides for inspection and enforcement for purposes of this Act.
