Abstract

Program of improvement and rationalization of the use of pastures in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period of 2009-2015 is a multisectoral policy document aimed at increasing grazing feed, helping to increase livestock numbers, production of meat and milk, skin, in all forms of management of business entities, meeting the needs of the population in food, providing industry with raw materials and the creation of new jobs. National pastures are the main source of supply of feed for cattle, sheep and goats, horses, and provide over 70-80% of their annual needs. Pasture improvement has a special place in ensuring food security of the nation and poverty reduction.
