Section 7(1) allows any area of Mauritius waters including the seabed underlying such waters, any land associated with Mauritius waters or any wetland, to be declared a Marine Protected Area, whereas section 7(2) allows a Marine Protected Area to be designated as a Fishing Reserve, a Marine Park or a Marine Reserve.
