Abstract

This Proclamation of the Commissioner for the British Indian Ocean Territory establishes an environmental zone of two hundred nautical miles contiguous to the territorial sea of the Territory. Her majesty will exercise sovereign rights and jurisdiction in accordance with international law with regard to protection and preservation of the environment in the zone.
