This Regulation limits areas that may be occupied by unrehabilitated roads and landings and imposes requirements for timber harvesting access structures that permit soil conservation. General requirements around streams and fish habitat are laid out in detail for example: to prevent stream channels, banks and gully side walls becoming destabilized or damaged; to prevent woody debris or slash in the stream channels resulting in harm to fish or fish habitat, or damage to water supply installations; Specific Requirements for Fish Streams and Water Supply Areas are also highlighted for instance: retention of trees adjacent to large and small streams; yarding activities, site rehabilitation, and management of fertilizers near streams. Provisions on critical wildlife habitat, and reforestation are also dealt with. This Regulation goes into detail regarding the practices and procedures pertaining to the Advisory Panels, reviews appeals and offences. The miscellaneous provisions highlight confidentiality, disclosure and identified threatened or endangered fish.
