Abstract This Regulation, of 14 Sections and Four Annexes, gives definitions and establishes conditions for the dumping of waste in sea in Israel. Section (1) gives definitions. Section (2) establishes that in order to dump waste in sea a permit must be obtained. Sections (3) to (5) and (8) to (10) provide with permit obtaining procedures and Permit Committee procedures. Annex One provides with permit request forms and Annex Four provides with permit authorization conditions. Section (6) regards substances (listed in Annex Two) that are prohibited for sea dumping unless one of the listed conditions is fulfilled. Section (7) regards substances (listed in Annex Three) that are permitted for sea dumping. Section (11) provides the Permit Committee with monitoring powers regarding the ecological and sanitarian effects produced by the dumping. Sections (12) and (13) regard reporting procedures for sea dumping. Section (14) gives powers to the Permit Committee to revoke a given permit if: a) permit conditions have not been respected, b) new conditions have emerged since permit has been obtained.
