Abstract

The Act consists of 9 Chapters divided into 61 articles. Article 3 defines important terminology such as quality standard of marine environment, oil, waste discharge, etc. Chapter 2 makes provision for the supervision and management of marine pollution prevention and control. Chapters 3-6 concern the prevention of pollution damage to the marine environment by land-sourced pollutants, by coastal construction projects, by dumping of wastes, and by vessels.
