Abstract

These Regulations entrust particular powers to the Minister of Agriculture in order to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease via importation of infected animals or animal products. The Minister may order the re-export of any meat, meat products, animal offals or parts of an animal imported into Malta and coming from a country where there is or there has been three months immediately before the date of importation a case of foot and mouth disease. The Minister may also order the destruction of meat (reg. 3). Regulation 4 prohibits the landing of swill.
