Abstract

This Act amends the Cruelty to Animals Act: by giving a definition of "authorised person"; in section 3 defining offences; in section 4 defining the offence of operation without proper anaesthetic and by defining exceptions; by inserting a new section (4A) on the appointment by the Minister of authorised persons; in section 6 on powers of authorised persons; in section 8 on compensation; and in section 13 on warrants that may be issued by a magistrate.
