The Regulation points out that coordination of stakeholders in water resources management is carried out to harmonise cross-sectoral interests; defines the following functions of the National Water Resources Council: coordination in policies formulation at the national level; coordination in drafting the designation of river areas and related modifications; coordination in the formulation of policies for the management of hydrological system at the national level; providing information and recommendations for handling strategic issues concerning water resources sector; coordination with local Water Resources Councils. The Regulation concerns the structure and the bodies of the Council and the appointment of its members, including representatives of non-governmental organisations or associations; the definition of the working procedure; funding for the activities of the Council.
